A solution to the housing crisis: build a home for under $50,000 with green, vernacular building, recovered materials, and a simpler (but comfortable) lifestyle.
Build with a combination of natural, low-impact, repurposed, salvaged, locally available, and upcycled materials. Use renewable energy. Recycle and minimize waste.
Source materials and labor locally. Respect and regenerate the local economy, environment, wildlife, and people. Regenerate the land to its original health.
Collaborate together for mutual support. Share land, infrastructure, and equipment for cost reduction and lower environmental footprint.
Goal: $20,000 by Earth Day, 2024, and $50,000 by Christmas. All donations go to materials, supplies, equipment, and occasional contracted labor, to complete the prototype and create the design and teaching model.
Bring your RV or tent, and become a work exchanger for a week or a month. Off-Grid Rod will supply space, food, water, power, portalet, sheltered shower, spectacular views, and good company. Expect rugged accommodations.

We're celebrating Rod's 85th birthday (March 19) all year with donations of $85 (or whatever you can offer) to complete the prototype and educate others on how to build affordable, eco-friendly homes and food secure communities. Any amount appreciated!
